Saturday August 28, 2010 - West Coast Swing Dancing at The Rhythm Kitchen:
In association with Rhythm Kitchen, Donnie Carl and Regina Shpigel are excited to bring you a whole night out on the town with nothing but West Coast Swing music. Come early for dinner, get a good seat, and stay for the lesson and dancing. Rhythm Kitchen will be offering drink and dinner specials just for us, dancers. Remember this is a restaurant and all ages are welcome.
After you walk in the restaurant, tell the hostess you're there for the dancing or just walk up the staircase as the dancing is upstairs. There is a great wood dance floor and a wonderful view of the city. You can also eat and drink upstairs. You can also make dinner reservations upstairs between 7pm and 8pm and if you have dinner you'll already have a table upstairs for the rest of the night. Just call and ask for dinner reservations with Donnie and Regina's swing group.

The west coast swing lesson runs from 8pm till 8:30pm. Open dancing thereafter.

Regional Dance Conventions
Thu Sep 9th - Sun Sep 12th - Desert City Swing in Phoenix, AZ -
Desert City Swing is a great growing west coast swing event that brings in ALL the top pros. The Phoenix dancers are some of the friendliest I
have met and the event hotel is AWESOME. The hotel is a full two room suite (bedroom plus living room with pull out couch) for only $99/night,
plus the resort has a water park with a lazy river. There are tons of great competitions including a pro-am jack n' jill where you will get to
dance with a pro. This event also tends to be popular with the Las Vegas dancers, quite a few of them attend. This will be my third year attending
this event and it keeps getting better. For more info, see

Level I (Beginning) Country Two Step runs from 7-8pm
Level II (Intermediate) Country Two Step follows from 8-9pm.
Both Level I and Level II run as a 4 week series, but you can drop in at any time. The next series begins August 31st, 2010.
The cost is $40 for four classes if you contact the instructors and pre-register at least two days prior to the first session. If you buy the entire four week session at the first class, the cost is $50 or you can pay $13 per class drop in. Dancers attending the Level II classes can attend the Level I classes at no charge. Level II dancers must know and dance Level I material on time to music.

Currently there is no weekly West Coast Swing dance. We are looking for new venues, but we still have our monthly dance at Rhythm Kitchen. Turn out has been great and the venue is wonderful.
